A Rhode Island Military commission signed and sealed by Governor William Greene in 1743, possibly printed by Ann Franklin. Written for John Warner (Lieutentant) of Warwick; also signed by Secretary James Martin. Great Seal of Rhode Island is printed at top center, and includes an anchor surrounded by stylized flowers, a small face at top center, and the motto "HOPE".
