Extent of Description Single bound volume measuring 4.5" X 8".
Scope & Content A 1792 book of music intended for use in Protestant religious services. Contains sixty-five handwritten musical pieces, some of which are single parts of songs to be sung by a full choir. Title page reads: "The/Singers Assistant/Containing a Number of Psalm Tunes/The Property of Misses E. & M. Morris/Newport/1792." Reverse of title page reads: "Property of Mary Cranston Van Deusen". Also includes a table of contents, including songs such as "Amity," "Psalm 25," "Pittsfield," and "Berlin".
