|Admin/Biographical History||The Great Friends Meeting House was the home of local members of the Society of Friends, known as Quakers, and their annual New England Yearly Meeting. During the 19th century, this was the largest Yearly Meeting in the world. The Meeting House was built in 1699 in the Postmedieval English vernacular style. It is the oldest surviving house of worship in Newport.|
