|Scope & Content||This collection contains correspondence between Elizabeth Wheeler Paul and her daughters, Mrs. Mary Lownes Paul Morris and Mrs. Sallie Wheeler Paul Morris. Also included are letters to various family members written by William and Israel Morris, twin sons of Mrs. Mary Lownes Paul Morris, writing home as they spent time in Newport with their grandparents. An informal ship's log of the ship George and Annie written by Elizabeth Wheeler is also included.|
|Admin/Biographical History||Elizabeth Wheeler Paul (1817-1906) and her husband William Wheeler Paul (1817-1886) were longtime residents of Newport, living at the corner of Second and Cherry Streets. After their daughters had married and moved away, their twin grandsons, William Morris (1867-1942) and Isreal Morris (1867-1891) would spend the summers (possibly longer) with their grandparents in Newport.|
